Linamar Names Aerial Rental Veteran Shaughnessy President of Skyjack
Linamar Corp. announced today that it has named aerial rental industry veteran Steve Shaughnessy president of Skyjack Inc., a Linamar subsidiary based in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. Shaughnessy, a veteran of more than 30 years in the aerial and crane rental industry, will succeed Ken McDougall, who will run Linamar’s Powertrain Mexico operations.
New Panda pick and carry at SAIE
Italian crane manufacturer Kegiom launched its 200Panda pick and carry mini crane at the SAIE exhibition in Bologna, Italy. The 200Panda is a battery-electric wheeled crane with 6.5 m lift height from its telescopic boom.

Insulatus promotes Load Insulator
Load Insulator from Insulatus is being promoted in the USA in connection with the 13 NCAC 07F.0900 law that goes into effect in North Carolina on October 1. The law requires that when working within 10 feet of an energized power line, there must be an insulated link fitted between the load and the lifting line, said Hugh Pratt, Insulatus CEO.
Brightcast boosts fleet with Skyjack, including UK’s first SJ51AJ
UK rental company, BrightCast Group Services is adding a number of Skyjack aerial work platforms to its fleet, including the first SJ51AJ booms in the UK. “We will be adding between 10 and 15 platforms,” said sales manager, John Young, which boosts the company’s total fleet to over 80 units.

Liebherr delivers the first MTC 78000 heavy lift offshore crane
At the end of June, Liebherr delivered the first heavy lift offshore crane type MTC 78000 straight from its manufacturing plant in Rostock. The MTC 78000 is one of the biggest offshore slewing cranes world-wide. With a maximum dynamic torque of 78,000 mT, the MTC 78000 is the most powerful machine within the extensive range of cranes and material handling machines offered by the Liebherr group of companies. Four units of the new heavy-lift crane have already been ordered to date.
