The trend towards using multi-functional machines on constructions sites continues. Why use, for instance, a single drum roller exclusively for compaction jobs? Ammann-Rammax offers compact machines equipped with pad foot drums and dozer blades. The next logical step in the further development of this tried and tested combination in the large roller sector was therefore only a matter of time: the ASC generation from Ammann is currently the only single drum roller series in the world that is also available with a dozer blade.

Ammann rolles are rolling in Wales.

A good price-performance ratio is particularly important in economically difficult times such as these, and no less so for the county council district of Carmarthenshire in Wales. The fleet of 80 cm tandem rollers was due for an update. One search criteria was to find a machine that enabled the driver to do a better job whilst making his work easier.

Two Ammann mixing plants in operation day and night

Two new Ammann asphalt-mixing plants situated south of Budapest (Hungary) have been in continuous operation for a number of weeks. The Uniglobe 240 (nicknamed “Bozsi”, the Hungarian version of “Elisabeth”) and a Uniglobe 160 (“Werner”) were handed over on schedule to client Bilfinger Berger Hungária Kft. / Bilfinger Berger Verkehrswegebau GmbH.

200 Double Barrel Green Systems for Astec

Astec Inc. reports that it has sold the 200th Double Barrel Green System since it began producing the warm mix system in 2007. The 200th system will be installed at Aggregate Industries’ Kirby Road facility in Clinton, Maryland.  Since its introduction, Astec has experienced a phenomenal acceptance of the Double Barrel Green System. Astec founder Dr. J. Don Brock notes that, “acceptance in the field is no less than a green tsunami.”

Caterpillar introduces the CD54 Drum Steer Vibratory Asphalt Compactor

Caterpillar Inc. of Peoria, Ill. US, has announced a new addition to its asphalt compactor line. The Caterpillar CD54 Drum Steer Vibratory Asphalt Compactor features front and rear vibratory and driving split drums, 1.3 m offset width for a maximum compaction width of 3.0 m, optimum maneuverability with sensitive to the touch steering, all-round visibility and many other features that will provide customers with a versatile machine for their asphalt compaction jobs.
